Friday.. as in 2 days ago? Or do you mean next friday? Either way, no.

I just don't understand why people say "this friday" when referring to the next weeks friday.

You say "this friday" only if you are referring to a friday in this week and it hasn't passed yet and "next friday" for the next occurring friday.

This friday for the next one coming, next friday for the friday after the next one coming. I don't get why anyone thinks otherwise.

It's this friday as in this coming friday.

but yea this is at Columbia University, and there is a big party FRIDAY 9/16. I know some people on FFR are pretty smart, and maybe someone on here attends Columbia. Who knows

Yea.. I know. That is why I had made the assumption that you meant next friday instead of this friday, hence the point of my post.
