Need Help Finding Song Recording Software

A friend of mine had it, but forgot what it is called. I need a program that i can download for free where i can record any media that plays through the PC speakers (need for youtube songs that i can make into mp3 files)
if anyone knows of a program like this plz tell me the name. Thnks ;D

Audacity can record the audio coming out your speakers, but you'll get much better quality using this http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products...-Converter.htm b/c it downloads the movie and rips the sound out of it

Any Video Converter is a free program where you can dl youtube movies and save them as mp3 files, with somewhat good quality.

If this is frowned upon, feel free to remove it.
