    Wouldn't this be their way of cheating themselves more money?

    I mean, like cheat codes or something. It's kinda not fair in a way. lol

      Simplistically, yes. But these sort of cheats also help prevent a country from going into a total tailspin collapse. So you know. Whatever.

        That's funny because people call America one of the strongest countries, but they basically bought their status through the money that they owe now.

            Since I live under a rock and stopped watching television 5 years ago, I don't know what you are all talking about.

            What happened ? Did the U.S. raised the ceiling allowed for it's dept/borrowing money (again) ?

              One of three thing will happen:

              1. No one can agree one something and the country defaults
              2. They rush something together a couple days before the deadline
              3. A miracle happens; everyone agrees one the perfect thing that'll save the country forever after. The End.

                They'll reach a deal -- that much is certain. Question is whether or not that deal will actually help the economy.
