Vancouver riots over losing Stanley Cup

Apparently this happened before in 1994. What do we take from this? Vancouver is full of sore losers, of course.

Actually I'm just curious what people think of it. Over a hundred hospitalized in some other reports? Not bad!

To put in perspective last time when the Flyers lost in Philly, my land renowned for aggressive sports fans, we just chanted "lets go Flyers" as the team skated off.

When I read "riots" and "sore loser", I quickly remembered Game 6 of the 2004 American League Championship Series when Alex Rodriguez was called out at first for interference when he swatted the ball from Bronson Arroyo's glove.

After the umps called him out, Yankees fans started throwing beer bottles onto the field.

But yeah...Canucks fans are just sore losers. A lot of people expected them to win with their home field advantage and their style of play of how they score goals.

Even I expected them to win. I was shocked to go on ESPN.com during the game and see on the front page that the Bruins were winning 2-0 at the start of the 3rd Period.

Anyone who hasn't figured it out already, Vancouver isn't rioting...
About 100 people are rioting... because they're drunk... and stupid. Not a single 'real' Canucks fan is rioting right now. They are, with great disappointment, congratulating Boston on their victory, and awaiting next year.

Do not classify Vancouver as a poor sport... we just have a few hundred douchebags.

Vancouver has a massive population, and the "Canucks Fans" population far exceeds the population of it. If all Canucks Fans were rioting, Vancouver would be decimated.

Let's be honest: Win or lose, you knew there was going to be a contingent of stupid people doing stupid shit after the game.

The real clincher, though, is that Milan Lucic is gonna spend his day with the Cup not too far east of Vancouver. That's going to be fun to watch.

Vancouver has a massive population, and the "Canucks Fans" population far exceeds the population of it. If all Canucks Fans were rioting, Vancouver would be decimated.

Now now... it might be embarrassing but don't undersell it! Embrace it! Seriously though, 60+ people hospitalized (5 for STAB wounds, however that happened) a few car fires and smashed cop windows constitutes as a riot. Albeit a small one, but one none the less.

Its not that bad. I mean, Philly rioted when the Phillies won the world series. Flipped cars, fires, injuries... and thats what happened when we won. This place is full of good losers but bad winners.
