for the record, irrational fears are common and aren't abnormal - not everyone is programmed to immediately combat/rationalize terrifying events, so there's absolutely no need to call him retarded. In fact:

Did you know that I have a fear of movement when I can't see? It's why I'm also not the biggest fan of being outside city limits if I'm out late, or why I don't venture out into wooded areas unless I know I can trigger some sort of light. I'm fairly certain that can be constituted as an irrational fear.

(i'll also note I have to be aware of not being able to see, so obviously this isn't triggered during sleep)
