Left hand: thumb, index, middle, ring, pinky
right hand: thumb index, middle, pinky, ring
This is because I can hold my index, middle, and ring fingers straight without holding my pinky down on my left hand. I have to use my thumb to hold down my pinky for my right hand so I avoid it by counting 4 with my pinky.
Dude! I just realized I have the same problem. It has never affected my counting .... but on my left I can lift my fourth finger parallel to my third easily. On the right, I can only lift my fourth finger if I extend the first IP joint of my pinky (so I guess a little better than you since I can still get my fourth finger up without fully extending my pinky).
cool
"Running is a mental sport...and we're all insane!"
Learn to run when feeling the pain: then push harder.
I figured this out, generally, for three:
North Americans show index/middle/ring.
Europeans show thumb/index/middle.
Chinese/asians show middle/ringpinky.
I basically surveyed a few friends and that was the trend lol.
When you look at the splayed fingers of the hand, you'll see that they're divided into three sections each. Using the thumb as a marker, he then started at the base of the finger for one, up to the first knuckle for two, then the second knuckle for three. Four would be the tip of the index finger, and the process repeated for each finger after that.
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
My index is 1, middle is 2, and so on, but thumb is 5. I think I'm going to count the way igotrhythm explained from now on though!

And so it was, with this thread that, in 2014 Robertsona will be placed in history via the Legendary Thread section. He will be respected as a self-proclaimed master of TGB. A feat so uncared for and ignored that he himself committed suicide in early 2013.
