Bay to Breakers 2011: 100th anniversary

Is anyone else going to be running this on Sunday? For those of you who don't know, it's a 12k footrace held in San Francisco every year, and it's...strange...to say the least.

To start things off, 90% of the people are in some sort of crazy costume, when the race starts, everyone throws tortillas at eachother. People make all sorts of elaborate floats that they push down the street. People who have houses on the race path set up dance floors with DJ's, so as you're running by you can stop and dance. There's people who will be running along side you, selling jello shots. Hardcore religious fanatics will be screaming at you on megaphones about how you're going to burn in hell for running this race. There's naked people everywhere. Most people get too distracted by the countless parties taking place in the streets to even finish the race. Usually around 250,000 people participate in this race, but since it's the 100th anniversary, there could be a lot more.

I'm going to be running it in a speedo, my whole body painted like pikachu. Expect pictures after Sunday haha.

I'm not in San Francisco, but I'm wondering, is this for any cause or is it simply a celebration?

Haven't heard of it but it sounds interesting. I can't wait to see your pictures.
