    Thoughts and opinions..

Does anyone ever remember the nintendo gamcube?? I used to love it and i just bought one the other day ago and i can't stop playing it... What ever happend to nintendo's creation?

It is such a great game system and i can' believe they stopped making games for it! I meen super mario sunshine was one of the best games ive ever played imo... Most of the games the gamecube had were one of a kind, Super Smash Bros Melle, Pikmin and so on...

In your guyz opinions.. would you still play it?? And would you support me in syaing that there shouldve been more games for it??

I bought some games since they work on the Wii. I only have Fire Emblem and Zelda Collection though. I will take your reccomendations into consideration.

I'ma let you finish... but the N64 was the best console of all time.

Melee was a very fun game, as was Mario Cart Double Dash. I mostly played Melee and Super Mario Sunshine.

        This times a million.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the gamecube come at a really bad time/like a few years too late? I feel like there were bigger and better things coming out when they released the gamecube and it never really had a chance to pick up sales. I also think that it was entirely too femininely designed for the majority of the gaming community, and the games were childish/for children.
The weight of what I say depends on how you feel.

So what i can't understand is why did they stop making games for the Gamecube?? I believe itz such a great console and the wii didnt come out until like 2008..

The gamecube should've kept on produing more and more games to keep the nintendo franchise alive becuz imo i dont like the DS.. Super Mario Sunshine 2 wouldve been such a fun and great game and i know people would get out of there way to see the graphics it had and of course the fun gameplay...

I still own a game cube [custom look though] And I love all the games, SMS was the best game of all time, I'm hooked, I also like simpson's hit and run, even though it was for PS2 and other ones, it was a cool game to follow a story line to, I agree with the thought they should make more games, but so along with PS2, PS3 has good graphic cards, but it's all shooting based games and no old timing games like ps1 and ps2 holds
And the DS is lame, don't get me started, a DS is a touch game based system?
Thats what touch screen comps are for, don't make a worthless handheald that only takes crappy photos a big money thing, get kids hook onto the N64, don't waste your time on DS and Wii, those are crappy games
And xbox knect, sucks, no point in buying

I completely agree with that.. The gamcube was for mainly children but still the games were amazing! It dosn't matter that the games were mostly E for everyone it just matters about the gameplay and how amazing these games that were never seen before could be on this CUBED console lol..

But it is true, it came out way to late, the PS2 was pwning and the XBOX 360 was about to rule the world but the gamecube still tried but never sold.. But i still believe it is an amazing console even though i wish it had more games..

Just because a game is for kids doesn't mean noone really likes it
I'm 18 and I play 10+ games because of the storyline is kickass

It's all about sales. The Gamecube failed to sell, and no one wants to make games for a console no one has. When no one makes games for it. no one buys the console. It's a negative feedback loop that you mostly just get lucky to escape from.

It definitely had the best controller though. I think it still does, though the 360 controller is really nice too.

Also, the Gamecube was buried in shovelware skewed towards a younger audience. That didn't really help.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure more than 100 times more Game Cube controllers were sold than the actual console. (I have one, and I don't own any console except an N64...)

                          SNES and N64 trump all.

But seriously, I didn't find the Gamecube to be memorable. I mainly used it to play Smash Brothers Melee, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. Outside of those games, nothing really stood out. The same could not be said for the predecessors, imo.

To more seriously answer the question though, GC launched kinda late in the game and by then the PS2 had already taken hold. PS2 was also able to play DVDs (which the GC couldn't), and this was seen as a big deal at the time.

There was also poor third-party support (devs/publishers were already tied up with supports for the PS2), and so there were fewer games. In general, Nintendo didn't really know how to expand to a larger market -- they were concentrating on a core customer base that was moving onto other consoles. Luckily, Nintendo was able to change the playing field a bit with the Wii as a way to reap a larger audience.

Had timing/market mix been different, the GC might have taken off. It was certainly a cool system.

tl;dr the Gamecube is like that guy who shows up to a party 6 hours late with an undersupply of apple martini mix after everyone else has already had their fill of vodka and have since been having fun banging upstairs.
