Pretty interesting. It's actually nice that they're trying to revolutionize robotic surgery by adding force feedback.
In other words, it would have to be able to detect overall proximities away from organs and other important internal areas. It would definitely be a step up from regular force feedback - giving a surgeon warning when they're very near to doing something potentially wrong.In order for force feedback technology to work properly, it needs some sort of frame of reference to tell it when the robot is brushing against a bone or in danger of nicking a patient's pancreas.Comment
