What I always do, is fill up a tupperware container with ice cold water.

Then soak your hand in it.

    It works.

You probably lightly sprained your finger. If not, it's just bruised. Just leave it alone for about 5 days, and the bruise will go away. It's at least a good excuse for teachers to let you not write. That is, if it's on your writing hand. As much as it may hurt, I can almost guarantee you it's not a serious injury.

I do it all the time.

yea.. it hurt like a bitch for a couple of days.. i usually get aggrivated at mine and treat it like i dislocated it.. i just grab it and pull as hard as I can on it.. it HURTS real bad, but it seems to make the pain go away quicker..

I don't suggest you do this unless you want it to throb for about a half hour, basically this doesn't do anything, but take your mind off the constant throbbing pain, and gives you a sharp pain that when it goes away the little constant pain wont bother you anymore, because you had got used to the sharp pain.... hmm... ice is probably the best bet

Or you can try to ignore the pain and move on with life. Thats what I do.

the road to recovery is hard.. but.. see how that little pain seems to dissapear now that you had to deal with that immense pain of when it popped..

, whats wrong with me logic?? who cares that it doesn't really help but makes you feel worse?? [/sarcasm]

Me: Dad, i broke my finger.
                      Dad: Walk it off.

All my fingers are still in tact too.

If I told my dad my finger hurt, he'd tell me to cut it off, that way it wouldn't hurt anymore.
