In my opinion, stay interested, but don't make her the focus of your high school career. There are other people as well as school work to focus on so don't center it on one girl.

PS. I don't think she'd tell her friends. If she does, that's sign number one to stay away. If she does, but confronts you first, or just doesn't say a thing, that's a good thing and a good sign to look for.
