    New keyboard needed...

well.. story basically goes like this.. My step dad, a fucking night owl on the comp staying up till like 2 or 3 am night/morning on the comp, has numerously spilt his always half full glass of sweet tea on the keyboard.... he does this about twice a month and the keyboard has about had it.. i can usually just take apart the keyboard and wipe it down and clean it off and it works good again.. but im getting tired of cleaing up after his shit.. so i have decided to purchase a new keyboard for my own personal use..

Now the keyboard must be corded, because wireless keyboards suck..

Must be able to register 7 keys at a time (i started playing o2 jam, and losing my combo because of my keyboard makes me mad)

must have standard sized keys, none of those tiny arrow keys crap that some of the new keyboard like to use..

doesn't matter if it has a USB connection or not, but it is prefered..

    nothing over $200...

    any suggestions?

200 dollar KEYBOARD??? wtf man lol
Get a $20 microsoft keyboard. It does everything you want, and it's not like a weird size or anything.

you may want to test these out in store to see if they register 7 keys, because I doubt anyone who gives you a suggestion has tried it out.

I have a Logitech Corded Elite, thus I have tried 7 keys, and they register. This is the keyboard of all keyboards. It came with a huge multimedia hardware package that costed more than what I had said before but is $40 seperately.

I thought that the reason keyboards didn't register 7 keys is because of Windows? It sets a limit I last heard.. If you get a USB keyboard you can change the number of keys on that.

heh, now that thought never occurred to me

87x, I would imagine the keyboard you have now can register 7 keys at once, it's just that some key combinations don't work. If you hold down a bunch of keys and your computer beeps, then you can't hit them all together, otherwise you can.
