I know this forum might not help me much but if it is at all possible I need people to really help me out here.
Some know I have a girlfriend in Canada, met a year ago on here and in a few months she'll be 18 and wants to move here with me. I'm doing all I can to get ready for her to be here and to help her move and transition into the American lifestyle.
My dilemma is that her father is protesting this excursion and told her he's gonna do everything in his power to keep her from getting citizenship and moving here.
Before he gets a phonecall or a knock on the door from me, I want ANYONE to tell me the legal processes and rights of an 18 year old canadian woman in gaining citizenship to the states.
Do the parents play ANY role in that decision?
Does ANYONE besides the person in decision have to make decisions for her(besides the government decision to administer citizenship)?
Can someone please help me get my facts and processes together before I confront him?
