Ok this isn't a reference to the actual song by The Killers, but an actual legit topic.
Everyone knows that when you're young, you always see something you wanna become, based on the influences from the media, outside world, video games, your parents, or doing the impossible.
I always wanted to be an astronaut for some reason. Just the thrill of being in space always made me wanna actually experience the real thing.
Oh yeah, and I agree that everyone always thinks they can be a pro athlete as a kid. I always wanted to be the next Jerry Rice. I loved making impossible catches and trying to duplicate them in games. However, I left it after middle school considering I'm not strong enough to play it.
The only sport I actually have a chance in becoming pro is basketball. I mean, I have a small chance, considering I'm on JV as a junior. But unless I make Varsity next year or get considerably better, I probably have a slim-to-none chance.
It makes me sad when I realize that what I always wanted to become I never fully achieved, especially in sports. =(
