iPhone Internet Tethering Question

Hi.


Now then, onto my question! So I'm wondering if any of you are actually in the same situation I am: jailbroken iPhone, no real internet .'. use the EDGE internet from the iPhone via tether. Yes? No? Maybe? My primary concern with this the fees that AT&T might charge me next billing cycle for the ridiculous amount of data being transferred and how much net bandwidth I'm using (about 3 games running at the same time), so I'm wondering if anyone heard anything about anyone getting charged extra fees.

I've looked online and most of them are just complaints about ATT charging them, but fighting their case saying that there's no plan that really covers it except for the unlimited data plan (which I have). Oh, also, I should throw in that I've transferred roughly 3.3gigs of data rofl.

if you have unlimited data plan you should be fine. im on tmobile and usually use 1-2gb every month and ive had no extra charges

My cousin has an iPhone, and I'm sure he doesn't not have a problem with this. Personally, I just use my iTouch for using the internet.

verizons tethering is 10 for 5gb which goes by very quick

Oh, are you talking about the USB PC Wi-Fi thing? Yea, it's a jip. Especially if you're a gamer or someone who likes to -legally- dl their movies and stuff and stream it.

yeah i had to use it when i didnt have any internet and had to resort to using it so i could do online homework

I'm not using a jailbroken phone, but yeah, you should be fine. Unlimited aughta cover it, as long as you're only using it when you couldn't get internet anywhere else.
