    Re: School Workload-Need Some Advice

Some schools are becoming very picky though. They could admit like the top 3 best kids from high school A and then admit the top 3 at high school B even though they would have worse grades than the other 5-10 people at high school A that applied. And anyway, about my statements earlier, if you do drop a class, you should probably replace it with another. I have to go in to talk with my counselor sometime soon, actually...

I'm talking about the non-state-school colleges. A university is a collection of colleges. What I said is still correct.

Seriously guys, when it comes to school and college ****, don't argue with me.

If you are indeed talking about non state colleges then what you said was incorrect if someone didn't already know what you are trying to say. Has nothing to do with school in particular, just the wording of that sentence.

It would be correct if you said "when you look for non state colleges/universities."

I can't even read Rubix's post but ignore them. Find out what you want to do for a career, or what general field you want to go into. Find out what you have to do to get there and then do it. Simple as that. You don't have to take a bunch of bull**** courses unless you want to take some super hard yet probably unapplyable course which will leave you as a bright unemployable man.

You know, sometimes what people want to do for a career actually requires education.

But hey, if you want to disregard my advice and lowball yourselves and not invest in your own future, go right ahead.

tons of people that didnt take OMG ALL AP CLASSES IN HS are successful in life today. it doesn't all depend on school and education. You stand a better chance, but it doesn't mean you'll succeed, just like if you don't have an amazing education it doesn't mean you won't. i dont think this forum is big enough for your head rubix

No, I would agree with your points. But there's NOTHING wrong with hard work and maximizing your chances at a successful future. People who try to cut corners all the time usually end up with what they paid for.

For people like me, I enjoy challenge and accomplishing things, and I believe in higher education and the power it has in terms of generation of value, and there is more than enough evidence to support this. You stand a better chance reaching this goal by investing in yourself -- you can do it without the education, but it will be harder and more reliant on circumstantial luck than direct action.

I can't believe there are people in here arguing that trying to push yourself in education is a bad thing, lmao.

That's FFR for ya, I guess.
