    PS3 controller driver

I've been having trouble getting a PS3 driver for my computer. Im running Windows XP Pro 64-bit. Ive tried the 64-bit motioninjoy driver and all it did was give me BSODs everywhere. I just want one that doesn't hate my computer. If anyone can help me find a working driver I would be very thankful.

And before anyone says "get an Xbox 360 controller Windows is already compatible with it" the answer is no. I don't have a 360 and I'm not willing to shell out any cash to use a controller on my computer if I can find a way to do it for free.

A driver wouldn't cause a BSOD alone. Some part of your hardware might be on it's last leg or you need to reformat. Finding a driver for 64-bit is going to be hard as most people still use 32-bit, not for much longer though. Also this is kinda off topic but seriously, mouse and keyboard, after you get used to them are WAY better than controllers after you get used to them assuming you're playing an FPS?

Well after removing that driver my computer's been fine so I assume it was the cause for the BSODs (I've never seen one on any of my computers in 2 years). Doubt anything's on it's last legs cuz its very new and the system's already been formatted just over a month ago. My problem is there is a 64bit driver but it's meant for Vista/7 and whenever I try to use it starts killing everything (possible virus/error in the driver?). My theory is the fact it's an unassigned driver and my computer might be freaking out, I dunno I'm not great with how most drivers function.

Also don't take me for a fool, no way in hell is a controller greater than the mouse/keyboard combo for FPS games. I just wanted the controller to play some of ps1 and ps2 games with an emulator and I'd rather have the same model of controller than the crappy usb one I'm using (its 6 buttons shy of an anolog controller lol). (playing Parasite Eve atm =D)
