    I just got an invite, and I have to say that it's the coolest development in telephony in years. Free SMS, free calls in US, great international rates, "listen-in" voicemail, automatic voicemail transcription, different behaviors can be applied to different users (people can be marked as spam for instance, or put into groups)...it's just completely awesome. Everyone should definitely sign up on the waiting list for an invite; it's totally worth it. (Also, there are official apps for Android and Blackberry, maybe one for the iPhone if the FCC smacks Apple around, and one for Symbian is likely in the works; there are third-party available in any case).

    So yeah, GET IT. Other Google Voice users, gloat with me.

      Yeah, I got an invite only about a week after I'd signed up for one. Be careful in choosing your number, though. It's $10 if you want to change it once you've chosen it.
