PETA wow. I mean, I can see meat they stand up for, but flies. Those pesky things annoy the crap out of me. Flies can carry disease ( I guess so : FLY DISEASE, also not really), correct me if I am wrong. I don't want Typhoid thank you very much.

Yes great way to avoid disease is to smear fly guts all over your hands.

Honestly people, you may think PETA is being outlandish with this, but what you don't realize is that this isn't anything new, obviously their "humane treatment of insects" plans have been going on for years, the only thing this is saying is they wished that Obama hadn't killed one on TV.

Personally I agree with humane treatment for insects as well to an extent. Merely being annoying doesn't merit death in my eyes. I guess that's just me.

Anything as little as swatting a fly will come back to the President. It's pretty lame. They need to get over it.

Eh, just bacteria...what flies can do, however, is lay eggs inside you..and bot flies grow in you and ****. It's pretty disgusting, but that's only if you let your temperature increase to a point where they feel their larva is safe there..

LMFAO, this makes no sense because a fly is not an animal, it's a pest. (yes, I know that sounded retarded but you get my point)

For people wondering if PETA is serious:

                  They are.

They've been vehemently opposed to people using bees to make honey for years now.

                  Apparently we're persecuting them.

Wow, I seriously thought this was a joke.

It's almost impossible to argue they can feel pain. Their central nervous systems are so primitive I would argue they don't even have a brain (Though some would try to argue this), and regardless of whether or not flies have nociceptors, there is no conscious perception of pain going on here.

                    I can't believe this, lmao.

**** flies. I kill any insect that gets into my room and won't leave.

                      Re: Humane Treatment for Flies

I had to do a biology lab a while back, where the class observed the life cycle of wasps that pretty much fed off an unconscious fly. I wonder what PETA would think of that.
