      Re: Depression

I take 20mg of Fluoxetine, the Prozac generic, a day to manage mine. The p;ill just helps take the edge off, but finding things worth value to you is what makes the depression lessen. I took up Guitar, Stand up comedy, and focused on my homework/schooling to help absorb my time. Breaking the habit of sitting in front of a computer all day is a difficult one to break, and is much more difficult not to get sucked back in.

Finding a new hobby takes some time, and you can't just have one hit you in the face that says to take you up. Less video games, more socializing is the best two thing I can do to make it better.

          Re: Depression

Whats depression? Just find something to be happy about everyone has to have something right? I guess drugs work as well for a while but i personally wouldn't do them never been a big fan of that. Yes ignorance is bliss just forget all of your problems. Go get lost in the world of music or something.

I will use musical lyrics for my siggy.

                  Re: Depression

Science is young, and though depression is treatable, that's not really a permanent solution through medication. While putting yourself in a good environment is important, the change always has to come from within. There's not really much else to say.

As someone who's manic depressive, the road's a little more difficult for me. But we all have our battles.

Well theres nothing you can do to stop an active volcano. All im saying is dont let your problems gets to you. There can always be something to look forward to in life you just have to find it, and handle any problems that come along in a calm mannor. There really is no reason to let them bog you down.

alright, this makes more sense. however, the inner self *is* subsceptible to such extreme motions, therefore i advise you don't overlook it, especially if you're already in a position of mental suffering. point is that advice not supported by facts is indeed a poor advice, no matter how close you get to the truth.

True im not saying that you should hold all those problems in because that would make things worse, and certainly dont take them out on yourself. For some reason certain people seem to think that help. I would confide in the people that are close to you, well that always seems to help me anyways. I used to have a lot of problems, and things have really cleared up for me since i learned to deal with all the pressure. Im not saying i never get down but i know that there are always ways to make pick myself up again, and that things will get better again.

rRght now esspecially with graduation and all the pressure that goes on during that time. I don't know how many people are with me but try and not let all the pressure get you down.

I concur with wineandbread here. Nicely put, too. Depression hurts everyone, and it can be hard to cope with. Just do something that can help it go away, and let the results take care of itself. For me, I play FFR and video games a lot. It's not always the best solution, but sometimes people have to use what they have.
