Just because some ancient civilization from X years ago made some fancy-ass calendar and it ended on day Y doesn't mean HOLY DOLPHINS ON CRACK THAT DAY MUST BE THE END OF THE WORLD!

Yes, the Mayans were very advanced for their time, but they did not have any connections with the affairs of the divine.

People thought the world would end after Christ died. Um, no.
And then there was the fall of the Roman Empire. Sorry, try again.
And you can't forget about the Black Plague. Wrong.

Ok. Honestly, you can not foresee the future. However, he made some very statistical facts. I do believe that something will happen 12/21/12 yes, but I do not think it will be the end of the world as he even said himself. I just believe that maybe people should actually take a look around the world, and see for a fact, that many changes have been happening. We have had the most incredible storms, and life threatening disasters come more and more frequent. I guess it's up to ones own opinion, but imo, no the world won't end, but a cataclysmic event I am sure would probably happen.

The mayan calendar is not any basis for future predictions of any kind. We've had about a dozen too many threads about this already.
