Ok, if you guys don't want to even talk about the quality of threads declining, you shouldn't be posting here.

Seriously, the threads have been getting ridiculous around here though, I looked around Chit-Chat and the first thread I see is KgZ going on a rampage about something that no one knows about other than him, apparently. >_>;

That's what TGB is for. 1/4th of the posts in here are crap posts, and when you have that kind of a ratio, there's a problem.

Reinstatement of Operation IRON LAW is the ideal solution. Put together a team of crack moderators who are willing to do the dirty work to keep things clean. Use obscene force to remove any and all negative elements, even pruning individual trouble posts from threads.

I do like this idea. I've heard the term "post pruning" before, but I never understood how it works. =/

Either way, there should be more of a crackdown on these threads, to be honest.

Quality of threads used to be high. Well, it started rather low, but it was high for a while. Then it got terrible. Then IRON LAW was enacted and quality returned although quantity did take a hit. Then IRON LAW stopped being enforced. And quality dropped down to almost zero.

No matter what the message board is, it's not unreasonable to ask for quality. "lol internet" is no excuse. If you think these forums aren't worthy of quality, I submit that you're not welcome here.

So how do you guys propose to maintain forum quality, assuming the majority of mods are not currently able to look after the forums? Bug a mod? Sit back and watch?

A hell of a lot new mods who are regulars

(maybe yellow names for minor mods? who can only lock topics and stuff)

They exist, but as they grow older, school and work becomes more of a priority to them.

Also, random note, minor mods have a different shade of green than major mods.

i can only think that something as trivial as a flash keyboardsmashing game tends to gather more mindless teens than mature people. people can slowly change (or just refrain from posting stupid stuff) if the level of discussion is rather high and the dumb crap is severely punished, but that doesn't happen so this is the situation. l0l!
