Has anyone else seen this movie, it's really awesome and it has a lot of great motifs. Christian Bale plays the main character and he is a badass.

Equilibrium is probably the best B class movie of our times.

It owns Matrix. Go to your local CPL tournament next time it comes, they will probably have a huge group of gamers drinking Bawls and watching it on a big TV screen.

what is it about?

Like I said, it's a sorta B-Class movie.

It about a futuristic world with no emotions. There is no art, there is no music, and the only thing ever on TV is "Father," (or something like that) who rules everyone. Of course, it's not the whole world that is emotionless. There's also the cliche rebel force, which are an underground emotion-feeling people. These rebels are hunted down by the emotionless law people, who have cool machine guns and helmets with visors. Among these law people, are the elite. The elite are known as Clerics, who are absolute masters of combat, and have the ability to know what youre thinking(thus letting them know where youre going to shoot next, thus being able to block and dodge bullets).

Yes, believe me, the whole storyline made me think of that book The Giver. It's not very original, and I DID say it's a b-class movie.

But you have to trust me, its an action movie, and it's action scenes own like nobody's business. It never uses bullet time or anything like that.

Damn I love Equilibrium! The best is the end fight - maybe I have a warped sense of humour but I love it when (warning spoiler)

They can't shoot each other and they're flipping the guns all around their heads

The script is kind of weak, but whoever said it is right: The action scenes own all.

Yeah, I love that fight. First time I saw that I was like, "Holy Crap, fat man got some moves!" And theyre all shooting and dodging and moving the gun barrels just in time...It was insane.

I love it how you really have to observe the movie as well... Ie:

when Cleric switches guns on his lackey and you don't realize until the end when it's revealed.. I love it how he completely owns his lackey too. Gold!

The best part is how he takes out these two guys...That was viewtiful pwnage...
