    The Shamrock Shake Debate

Are Shamrock Shakes merely vanilla shakes with green dye or have additional flavors been added? The writer of the Wikipedia article on Shamrock Shakes references a double-blind test that addresses this question. However, the author fails to link to a source.

It's a no-brainer, if you ask me. Shamrock Shakes have a distinct taste and could not be confused with vanilla. I try to get them somewhat frequently around St. Patrick's Day because they are quite delicious

Here's a couple screenshots from http://www.shamrockshake.com/ that made me lol:

    Re: The Shamrock Shake Debate

This is something I look forward to every year. Despite the fact that I haven't had one in two years, I clearly remember the taste - the flavoring is indeed distinct, although I don't remember if it was mint or something else. I guess I'll find out later today.

    Also, 1/8th Irish here.

Never had one. So I'm gonna go with 'No.'
        Dear sirs,
One of my checks was returned marked "insufficient funds".

In view of current events in the banking market, does that refer to me or to you?

Shamrock Shakes are amazing. I haven't had one in so long, but I definitely should go get one. And yes, it is mint flavored.

              I haven't had one, but I haven't been to a McDonald's in years. Happily.

It's a minty kind of milkshake and it's sold at McDonald's. I don't like it though.

I work at McDonalds and they're pretty good...
maybe I should ruin everyone's day and tell people what the shakes are made from and how they get the green into it...it's not too bad, but its not real ice cream...I'll just say that for now.
And I LOVE them...people here like them so much that we are out at my McDonalds =[

I've made a sort of vow to not eat any McDonalds, so I wouldn't know about it; probably don't want to considering csoup's comment, but then again there's lots of urban legends surrounding fast food. Maybe I could make some homemade ones with mint extract.

                        Also,

"In May/June 2007, McDonalds introduced the "Minty Mudbath" shake to go along with the movie Shrek the Third. It takes the original Shamrock Shake formula and mixes it with chocolate. On June 23rd, 2007, the product was discontinued by corporate headquarters after several Internet sites revealed that "Minty Mudbath" was the 'underground' reference for a fetishistic act."
