Alright so let's say Bob is my best friend's ex.
Me and Bob are interested in each other.
Then Fred came along and now I'm interested in Fred and am losing interest in Bob.
What do I do ? D:

What's so confusing about this? If you're losing interest in one guy, don't go for him... especially if you're interested in another.

Anyway, what's so hard about going for either is probably because Bob told me he had been depressed from his relationship with my best friend and said that since I came into his life, I've made it better.
But I just found out Bob was flirting with other girls a week ago and confronted him. Bob didn't apologize, just kinda blew it off since we weren't going out.
Fred, I've just met, and am only beginning to be interested in since we have similar tastes in things and he makes me laugh, great personality, everything but I'm still confused about how I feel with Fred.
If I go out with Bob, yeah I lose my best friend and I gain a possibly careless boyfriend whom I might actually make happy.
If I go out with Fred, I gain a nice guy of which whom I might just be developing feelings for because Bob upset me.

I suppose this makes things harder, but negligibly. If you feel it's your duty to be with someone that may not be faithful to you in order to keep him from being depressed, then so be it. But I always thought that if you're going to be with someone, then it should be what you want. I hate to sound heartless, but Bob will probably get over it.

Not only will you "gain a nice guy" if you go out with Fred, but you won't lose your best friend. This is still sounding like the best option. Of course there's more I'm sure I don't know, but you did come to a forum of strangers for thoughts so there are mine.
