facebook video upload?

the file that i want to upload is 200 mb...about 5 minutes of video. But after about 2 mins of uploading...it just stops. What can i do to fix it so it uploads the video?

Make it smaller. Try a more stable internet connection.

You can always crunch the filesize then upload it, it`s what I did the other day.

1)Open windows movie maker
2)Go to file > Import into collections (I guess it would say this in eng. since my pc is in fr.)
3) It`s loaded you`ll notice it`s been cut up into clips. drag and drop then into the row at the bottom in order from 1-9 persay.
4)Once that`s done go to file > save video file (once again i think it would say this in eng. shortcut is ctrl+p)
5)Click next, give it a name, place where you want to save it
6)Next it`ll give you quality saving options, go with the highest one (That`s what I did)
7) and tada!, it`ll be saved as a .wmv file and the size should be much much smaller.
8)Should upload no problem now ;D

If I messed up on any of the steps, let me know as I did this for the first time yesterday O.o;

when i try to import it...it doesn't import >.< it says the codec is missing or something.

Hmm..odd, try going by the steps I gave you, see if it works, if not, then I dunno, i`ll try and figure it out lolz ;D

the type of file is .MPG if that means anything to you.

Mine was .mpeg. In the end they`re about the same, but with a difference I don`t know about xD It`s a possibility that it isn`t working or uploading due to the filesize

but the facebook instructions say that if ti's 1000MB or less, it should upload without problems >.< darn it.

this is what the error message says when i try ti import it into the windows movie maker

The file C:\Documents and Settings\Chris Zhu\Desktop\11-02-08 band parade.MPG cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

So for youtube video uploads...how do you know that it's uploading? there's like no progress bar to tell you that it's working so am i supposed to trust that when it says uploading...it's uploading? at least the internet sign is spinning...so i guess?

.mov's are HUGE. Try googling ".mov .avi converter" and see what comes up. Even if size isn't the problem it'll be easier to upload if it is just an unstable internet connection.

it's not a .mov, it's a .mpg
but i guess that doesn't make a difference since it errors up anyways
it says error while opening codec something some...

for facebook, i've uploaded the same type of file before. it's just the size that's different now.
