and I try and go into the App store. But it says login. So i called in asking how to do it, and he said go to iTunes and make an account. So I went to iTunes and tried to make an account, but it said I needed a credit card, which i don't have. I'm not old enough to have one. Any ideas?

Re: I bought an iPhone
Considering that you cannot legally sign a contract until you are 18, go but a parent. And I'm curious on how you actually got hands on an iPhone without using a credit card. I know in the states, ATT requires you to use a CC.

Re: I bought an iPhone
You could try asking you parents. It won't charge anything to the card unless you actually buy something.
Edit: oh iPhones.. I have an iTouch so it might be different.Comment

Re: I bought an iPhone
you don't have to put a credit card in, if all you get is free apps. You create your account
and then just don't put a CC in and you'll be fine to get free apps, but to get paid ones you need a CC.
p.s. jailbreak it, it's good for you, I did mine recentlyComment

Re: I bought an iPhone
if i understand you... you can't even set up your phone? because to set up the phone, you have to do it through iTunes... which requires an account, which requires a CC.
if your dad isn't willing to trust apple with your CC info, then he won't trust anyone with it... and in the internet age, that just isn't going to work. you need to use your CC online so frequently in today's e-commerce world.
but, yea. you need some kind of CC for it to work. which really isn't that big of a leap, given you just dropped a few hundred on a phone. it also should have been explained to you when you bought the phone. but who knows how things operate in Canada.RIPComment

Re: I bought an iPhone
A prepaid credit card would work. You can either contact your financial institution (aka. CIBC, Royal Bank, Bank of Montreal, etc.) or you can purchase the Much Prepaid Mastercard (you need parental consent for this one). There IS a minimum balance that you have to put on it (on activation), but it should get you registered there.

Re: I bought an iPhone
Wrong, you have to have an itunes account before you can download anything from the app store. And to have an itunes account, you have to have a CC.
The prepaid option is your best shot.
