FFR will definitely be around five years from now..and it will certainly be at the level (or maybe better in certain areas) than stepmania. Here are some questions on my mind for what's to become of FFR in 5 years:
1 - Will Synth still be in charge, or will be pass the torch to someone else?
2 - Will it really rise to the level of Newgrounds and other sites?
3 - With the simfile database growing..will it actually surpass bemanistyle?
4 - Will WE still be around? Will we still be posting and playing FFR?

probably, but possibly, in 5 years, his son might be old enough to play, and he might pwn us all...

definitly. 500-1000 members a day is alot. it might be as popular as...other games...(cant think of any)

i know i will...holy crap imagine all the n00bs signing up all day long and posting all day long...in 5 years, if FFR gets 500-1000 members a day, pretty much every active member now will be needed as a mod.

EDIT: also, as FFR becomes more popular, bigger and more popular artists will want their songs on FFR.

Whether or not Synth still manages the site is debatable, but he'll always be the Head Honcho. I mean he created the effin' game from scratch.

Will it really rise to the level of Newgrounds and other sites?

I'd say so. We're growing fast- it took Newgrounds a lot longer to get to the level we're at. FFR is beginning to spread out of the DDR community, non-DDRers are hearing about the site and playing, and (thanks to mostly me) it's starting to spread around our strictly-non DDR area as well. I know of at least ten people I know that don't play DDR or SM and have joined FFR in the last month or so.

I don't know about surpass, per se, but we'll definitely rival them. Right now we're beating them, as their simfile database is still down, and then even when it's back up, all the artists have to reupload all their simfiles as well, so in a way .60 was a blessing for FFR because it gave us a head start. The problem is that non-FFRers don't know that we have a simfile database, otherwise more people would come here with the lack of other sites to go to.

Will WE still be around? Will we still be posting and playing FFR?

Well, I'd like to say I'll still be here. I mean I'll be in college, so who knows what I'll be doing there, or if I can afford to spend countless hours on here...but I'll sure as hell try to keep in touch.

The idea of the FFR simfile database beating bemanistyle's is a joke, an absurdity, whatever you want to call it.

I think in the future, robots will enslave us and throw arrows at our feet, thusly making us "dance". This will eliminate American obesity and increase the number of cash Synth gets because he is the one that rules them all. As I forgot to mention, Synth programmed the robots to obey him. He made the decision to hack the robots after the robo-lution of 2006, when someone put Hitler's brain in a robot and it turned all the robots into Nazis. FFR is law and only the privileged and their families live.

I dont know about FFR in five years, put I will most likely have grown a Magnum P.I. mustache and then shaven it off.

But just think, 5 years...there will be over 1 million members. Synth could:

1. Start his own religion
-or-
2. Start his own FFR army and take over the world

Anyway, in 5 years, I think FFR will have at least 2 million - 3 million members. There will be multiplayer (real time). Each active poster now will have at least 100k credits. There will be a crapload of buyable and secret songs. Each song category will have at least 20 songs.

And that's all I can think of for now.
