Agreed. It was already outside and as far as the news covered it didn't cause harm to anyone, they could have just relocated him but that's probably to expensive/time consuming so they took the easy way out :/

There's no excuse for killing the bear. As stated before, they should have just tranquilized it and taken it to a remote location. Besides, the bear never hurt anyone, and its odds of returning would be relatively low since it didn't discover any food there that it liked.
