On Windows XP, when you click Start, is there any way to get rid of that My Recent Documents button? It's driving me crazy. When I right-click it, nothing happens.

Re: Just a quick question
This is going to be a shot in the dark because I haven't had XP in a while:
Start Menu
Control Panel
Taskbar and Start Menu
Start Menu tab

Re: Just a quick question
Go right click the start bar, and go to properties, then go into a different tab (I'd explain better, but I can't get to a computer with XP right now), and uncheck the recent documents icon from the start menu. That should do it.
Or something along these lines.

Re: Just a quick question
My Recent Documents will show up in any program that has an "Open" file option. AKA, pretty much anything.
Just so you know, removing the link to it doesn't remove its functionality.
Also, there are about a dozen other ways to find out what files a user has recently used.Comment

Re: Just a quick question
After reading the last few posts, I tried to think of something funny because that's who I am. Couldn't.

Not at the same time. I need a free hand.Last edited by H3llacious; 10-6-2008, 06:26 AM.Comment

Re: Just a quick question
I don't like the recent document button on my computer because it gets cleared out every night by my cleaner anyways.
