Wind days

Alright, so I live in Kentucky, where as you might imagine, there is usually not a decent amount of snowfall for school cancellations.

Well on Sunday we got a TON of wind from Hurricane Ike-we're talking trees falling on houses and stuff- so basically we've had 3 days off of school for "wind days". It's pretty sweet.

So I wanted to know if anyone else around the US have had similar cancellations?

Same thing happened to me.

200,000 people lost power in my area. Still cleaning up the branches and stuff.

The closest thing we had was an ice day last year where it rained a lot then turned into 3 inches of ice overnight. The result was really pretty though.

mid 80s and not a cloud in the sky for me
