Dude this is ****ing scary. I was just looking at this laptop and I had spec'd it out and everything, and when I was done, I was like, "Let's go to FFR!"

HP sucks ass..imo.. i have a HP keyboard .its the gayest keyboard you can have.. anyway i won't enter in details..but i dont like HP..maybe their laptops are fine..

Ive only heard good things about hps. Everyone i know who has one likes it. I just wanted to know if anyone had this version, and how good it was. Having an hp keyboard that sucks shouldnt make you hate hp. Its only an accessory.Comment

dell mid-ranged laptops are awful. Those coloured ones are really bad. I have a friend who has one, and he has no ram intensive programs, and it runs really slow.Comment

That's a pretty good laptop for that price range, the proc and mem will be enough to run vista for you fine, and HP has a fine reputation in terms of reliability in that price range. Go ahead and buy it, you won't have any regrets.Comment

Don't get that. It's overpriced--I'm considering getting a lappy in the next year or so, and I'm looking at a good-looking Gateway. It's ~$1k, and it's got better specs than that one (although, not the sexy-looking vectors that I'd find unnecessary).

Owait... Looks like they came out with a new version--slightly faster proc, bigger HD, $100 less... Link
Here's the link to the specs and info from Gateway on the cheaper one.
I'd say that the newer gateway computer is EASILY the cheapest and most cost-effective laptop on the market right now. 4g of ram, 2ghz dual core, 320gb hd... Can't beat it.
Although the HP one isn't awful >.>
