I hate Fairs.

Okay, So last night I went to the fair with a few friends and we went on the Scrambler. Well we were on the Scrambler we hear a huge bang. We were all like "WHAT THE **** WAS THAT?!?!" Then a couple seconds later the thing you put your feet in is just hanging there! The retard operating the ride didn't stop it for like a minute after it happened. Later that night I went on the Yoyo, The one where you are sitting in a swing and you swing around really high in the air. There was a nut loose on my swing and it was creaking like hell.

Scariest moments at a fair and I vowed to never to go to WCA (West Coast Amusements) Fairs ever again...

fairs are so stupid. they just pack up the rides. Once they get somewhere, they put them out and put them together. they are poorly made and poorly constructed.

Amusement parks are pretty bad too...you know those things that hold you, then they fly up 100+ feet up, then all the way back down again, etc.? I almost went on a faulty one where the seat belt over my shoulders would come off. Luckily, I realized it right before we went flying up.

Also, there was a huge blanket covered in red liquid under the ride. We were speculating that it was blood, but being the teenage idiots that we were, we still went on the ride.

I'm always scared of something going wrong at fairs.

Whether I'm on a ride, or I'm walking near one.

I'd rather not have a bunch of metal/steel and people fall on me as I walk under it.

Nor would I be too amused if I was to catapult off something.

I love fairs. Going with your buddy, riding the biggest, baddest rides and looking out for girls... ah, the teenage life.

Meh, there was an incident in a fair nearby where there is a ride that is like a ferris wheel, but smaller, and you spin around vertically upside down, and a guy rode it. While he was riding it, the door swung open (typical from poorly made fairs, it's supposed to be locked), and he was left swinging on the edge, hanging on for dear life at the top.

Luckily, the guy operating the ride managed to stop it before it did another flip. I don't if he sued them though.

The fair that comes to my town every year is very typical. You spend about $60, it's in the middle of June and held in an old gravel lot so it's hot as ****, the rides are iron death traps, and most people just come to smoke pot. I remember three years ago, one of the ugly carnies hit on my mum.

@25thhour: Definitely sue them. Save someone else from getting killed on one of those things.

Amusement parks or at least the ones I've gone to are like the safest place in the world minus crowds of people. I challenge you to TRY to hurt yourself on a ride at Canada's Wonderland, Universal Studios, or Disneyland. Most dangerous theme park I've been to was in Denmark and it's probably because people aren't so sue happy there. If you wanted to you could hurt yourself on a ride, the rides go a bit faster but it's all within reason.
