    Some computer help..

well..ive been trying to download a new update for my windows media player and it goes through all the stuff and then it goes to the windows installer and says preparing to install, then it says theres not enough space on the disk.
So i do disk cleanup and all this crap, and then i got rid of some stuff that i dont use, and it started taking more stuff away.
So i remembered that i had put in a new hardrive, and that one has plenty of space, but i dont know how to make it download to that drive. It always says theres not enough space. Any help?

Did you install your new hard drive correctly? If you did then it should read it. Go in My Computer, and probably check your "D:/" To download there, when you install something, it should ask you where you want to install. You can just tell it to go to whatever drive your new hard drive is at. You might have to move your windows media player folder over to your other drive for it to download/update to it.

Is there anything in it? Probably not, but then I guess you can start moving stuff in it. Just drag whatever folders, and start installing to that drive instead.

Yeah, I was going to say basically the same thing as above.

The windows update will download to whatever drive your OS is on. If it is on the C:\ (or whatever you have it as) it'll download there. Take some big files (games, movies, music) and put them on your secondary HD. That should free up the space that you need. For the future, I would suggest putting all of those big files on the secondary drive from now on and leave your main open for other things.
Funny stuff goes in this area right?

Yeah, basically move some stuff over to your F: drive and it'll free up enough space for the update to run.

Also, since you have two hard drives now, the best way I know to use them is to put all your data on one, and all your programs and system info on the other. That way, if Windows ever blows up (which it probably will at least once before you get a new computer), you can reformat ONLY the drive with Windows on it, reinstall, and you still have all the data and stuff on your other drive. It's really, really, useful.

You could also do a RAID setup if you have the right HDDs, but I don't really like those. Just FYI, here are your options:

                    1) You can set it up so that whatever you write to one drive, also gets written to the other. This means the same data is on both drives, and if one dies, you still have the other with all your stuff on it. However, you only have the space of one drive. This is called "mirroring," and is RAID 0 I think.
                    2) You can set it up so that portions of data get written to both drives at once. This means your write speed is essentially doubled and you have all the space on both drives available, but if one drive dies, all your data goes away. This is called "striping," and is RAID 1 I think.
                    3) There's a couple others that are still beyond my comprehension, like "striping with parity." But like I said, I just prefer to use my two hard drives as two separate drives, rather than bother with RAID.
