It's also very likely that they're afraid some of the A/C units won't be able to run at a capacity necessary to keep the school even mildly comfortable.

PS I watched them complain about the heat on the Early Show come on you wimps it's just a little heat.

I'm typing from studenteducation right now. =) It's cold enough for it to be a winter day indoors.

It will be hotter and hotter every year until it's too much to be in the sun. Welcome to the apocalypse everyone

lol, down south it's not ONLY hot, it's humid and muggy. We've had heat advisories were the index was 120+, we just canceled sports. I've been to death valley, it was rather comfortable there, because yes there was heat, but not humid heat where it's hard to breath.

Because I have ****ing cholinergic urticaria and I will literally faint if I stay in the heat like this for over half an hour doing stuff and if not I will simply suffer for the entire day.

Because of this heat my school had no more full days left. our last full day was supposed to be today before finals began but, this heat gave us more half days, since we used all our snow days (possible days off that include the weather) we have half days instead of no school.

It's been around 30-40 degrees the past week for us though. This heat wave is annoying as hell.
It would be extremely hilarious if we suddenly get that thunderstorm, after this ridiculous heat wave.

We've been having sporadic thunderclaps for the past few days. No serious damage yet.

EDIT, wow one minute afterwards, we get a blackout. Running on batteries for a while. =/
