    Video Editing Program

    FFR Community,

    Since all of you guys (girls) are awesome and very reliable, I was wondering if any could refer me to a video editing program. Here are some of the basic things that I am looking for:

    *video conversion (of almost all formats)
    *addition of text
    *addition of transitions
    *ability to break apart a video to create scenes
    *ability to combine clips to make a complete film
    *ability to compress the video

    I am not asking for a pirated video program, I would like to buy one, so if you could just give a website or a program name and description it would be much appreciated.

      Sony Vegas Pro(Very expensive)
      It is very good but $600

      Adobe Premiere
      iMovie (free, included with Mac OSX)
      Final Cut Express (Mac)

          Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier Pro are extremely good, I've heard. My friend used at least one of those to make an epic video project.

                  I use Adobe Premiere Elements 4. It works great and there's a ton of effects and transitions! It's pretty cheap and it produces extremely good quality!

                      I've been using Vegas for years. It's a fantastic program if you're willing to take the time to learn how to use it. It has everything that you're looking for in video editing, but it is a little pricey.
