Riddle

Okay heres a riddle.

Hint:Your answer must somehow make the situation paradoxial so that it creats a scenario where your answer to confuses the people to let you go.

Riddle: Two men tie you to a tree. They say, "If you tell something that is true then you will die by being shot, if you tell something that is a lie, you will die by being hanged." What do you say? (It can't be a blob of random words or something opionated.)

I think I've heard this riddle before. The answer is something like "I will be shot today" or "I want to be shot".

The reasoning is that you tell the truth by saying you will be shot, but because that's the truth they can't shoot you, but you didn't lie so they can't hang you either.

Something along those lines.

It's the other way around. Say that you'll get hanged.

technically that is an opinion due to the fact that you can't prove that they want to be hanged...

A opinion usually contains opinionated words such as fat, skinny, small, fast. There is no exact defination of how fast you have to run in order to be fast. The word hanged however is not an opionated word.

i can't take a riddle seriously if the person asking it can't spell or use grammar correctly.

either way... the "i will be hanged today" statement should work... if it's truth, then he'll be shot, making it a lie. if it's a lie, then he'll be hung, making it true.

or... you could always ask the time old question, "what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?"

Though everyone knows that it's around 11 meters per second, or 24 miles an hour. So they would probably hang you for being a smartass.
