With the quarter finals over and the cup to be awarded soon I wanted to know who you all think will win it all. Explain why you think they will win.
Personally I think Detroit will win because they have so much depth. Pittsburgh has Crosby, Malkin, Hossa, Gonchar and Sykora (you could argue that there is more). Detroit has Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Lindstrom, Rafalski and the list keeps going.
Also Detroit has a lot more playoff experience than the other teams (Chelios alone has 250 playoff games played). While I have trouble naming a person who has won a cup playing in Pittsburgh.
Hasek and Osgood together are a deadly combonation in net and the only goalie that can still oppose them is Marty Turco.
Detroit can also play a phisical game thanks to the likes of Darren McCarty, Thomas Holmstrom, Kris Draper, Dallas Drake, Johan Franzen.
Also Detroit has excellent leadership on their bench. Lindstrom is a fantastic player who leads by example. He is also solid on the defensive end well on his way to his fifth Norris Trophy. The other captains are still excellent, but I think Lindstrom is the best defenseman in the NHL. Crosby (the captain of Pittsburgh) is an excellent player, but he still lacks playoff experience. He wants to be there but I question if he will be willing to sacrifice enough in the end.
