    Computers being dumb. Help please

    I'm trying to listen to music on youtube but it says that either JavaScript is turned off or i need to download the latest flash player. It was working perfectly this morning. I dowloaded the newest version so i guess somethings wrong with my JavaScript... Whatever that is xD. Any ideas?

                  Java and Flash are two different programming languages. I'm guessing you-tube's video player is coded using one of them. If you turn these languages "off", you won't be able to view the movie anymore. Just turn them back on.

                          Same config over here. No, really. Well, at least I have a partner in old-computer-that-needs-to-be-replaced land.

                          Anyways, first please answer this: Firefox or Internet Explorer? Knowing this makes fixing a trivial matter. Also, if Firefox, as Extremex asked, are you using NoScript?

                              Well i fixed it but i could still use some help. I dont really understand how my internet works. I have both FireFox and IE. So if someone could help with what all these damn terms mean I'd be appriciative(spelling?). I have no idea what NoScript is, for example.

                                  NoScript is an add-on for Firefox that disables javascript, java, flash, and some other stuff from running, unless you have the site you're visiting as a trusted site to use them. It makes browsing the internet safer.

                                  JavaScript is a programming language that is coded in a web page. Java is a program or an application made for running inside of web pages. Flash is a special animated file that has many capabilities, and I think it is primarily used in web pages. I don't know if there's something else that may use them.

                                      Uggh!!! New problem. Now my sound is completely dead. I looked at my sound drivers and everythings working fine, but i cant listen to music, or even play system sounds. I went through the troubleshooter and I got "This troubleshooter is unable to solve your problem." Any ideas?

                                      Edit: I decided to try FFR without sound and its playing at about half speed. I don't mean speed mods broken i mean Excite Bike took 18 or so seconds to play.

                                                  A proxy is a site that lets you get onto websites at school that you shouldn't be on (MySpace, 4chan, ODI)
