My computer is being stupid. I need help fixing this.

    k two things

    1. IE randomly decided to get rid of that handy dandy bar down at the bottom of the screen that gives you the URL to a link if you hover over it. I would like to know how I get this back.

    2. My keyboard suddenly doesn't accept <v> or v^> inputs on the keyboard anymore, at least not properly. It'll give me a beep sound and down and right will register followed by up/left about a half second later. This normally wouldn't bother me except it kills the way I play FFR and StepMania. I would also like to know how to solve this. Restarting did not help. (Odd side note: on the sign in screen - I use XP - I can press those keys and it doesn't complain, but if I'm actually logged in it doesn't like it.)

And yes, I cleared my cache, so shut it if you're going to suggest that because this is serious.
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

You can fix the 1. by going View-->Status Bar
that should bring back that bar at the bottom...

Also, the reason why the keyboard didn't complain on that sign on screen, is probably because there is no reason for the up and down keys to be enabled, so it wont complain when you press them

The Up and Down actually do stuff, but if that's the reason then it's probably because right doesn't.

Thanks for getting my status bar back.

          Nope, I haven't done anything.

I had to restart my computer once after accidentally hitting the Standby Mode button while playing StepMania, which somehow removed all sound even though it could still detect the sound driver. After that restart the keyboard's been pissy about the arrow keys.

wow spec, you really are teh spam XD. I have never heard of anything like this. I usually just mash the normal keys, scroll lock, shifts, alts, windows, tabs, break, the F#s. the num pad, and it usually gets pissed at me and starts working. I know that won't help, XD, so try just unplugging your keyboard from the back of the comp then plugging it back in.

              Then clear your cache. XD

You are either (1) overflowing the keyboard buffer (which is the bep you hear) or (2) you keyboard, like mine, does not register certain three key combinations (in my case, <v> and V>^)

If that's the case why not use num pad?

It used to register both of them without complaining, which is why I'm asking how to fix it. Must be the first thing, then.

Because I would practically need to relearn the game. I'm used to the down arrow being where it is. I tried playing with my 1234 setup once since it follows the arrows better and is easier to mash, but I was getting MUCH worse scores because I wasn't used to the setup.
