OMFG Computer problem. (Windows.)

OK, I was surfing the site, and got bored, so I decided to download some simfiles. When I went to play the song, it wouldn't play. I check speakers to make sure they were up and plugged in, and checked mute, which was off, but it still didn't work. Or on Youtube videos it stops two seconds into the video. It seems to happen on any application that requests sound. Anyone have a suggestion as to what's wrong?

I remember when the you tube vids didn't work either for me, um either close your broser and open a new one up or restart the comp?

I'll try reopening the browser. If that doesn't work, then I don't really want to restart the computer. The thing is, I don't know the password to it and my mom isn't home to put the password in .

EDIT: Nope, restarting IE didn't work. I guess I'll have to live with it for now. But I really wanted to compose another song! Stupid windows, I can't wait 'til I get a Mac. That way I can get free Photoshop from mother's work! I'm cheered up now! (And I'm not bipolar, in case you're wondering.

Try firefox...

If that doesn't work, try restarting...

If that doesn't work..... I don't know... try looking for windows/flash updates or whatever, then post here.

But seriously, check to see if your graphics card is loose for the Stepmania thing. A lot of my friends ask me to fix their computer .. and that's usually what it is. Also, what a bunch of people already said. Download Firefox.

Also .. if the program isn't working .. why would you check your speakers!? Unless you mean the sound isn't working? Lol. =P

EDIT: Or install any missing graphic drivers. I would suggest more, but I haven't used Windows in like 2 years. Linux/Kubuntu FTW.

It's not really windows fault. A windows OS would work perfectly if it wasn't connected to the internet. Your problem looks like your computer needs to reboot or be reformatted. Don't buy into the whole 'Macs never crash' deal because my friend has one and did pick up a virus built for macs. His computer freezes all the time and goes much slower. If your going to be buying a computer to game or want to upgrade it in the future buy Windows. For everything else or if your not good with computers buy a mac IMO just keep in mind...MACS CAN'T GAME as the language they run on is much slower than Basic.

Uhh, the whole point of this thread is because his speakers stopped working on everything, youtube/stepmania and much more...nothing about graphics or anything else. My guess is your sound card is short circuited or something, but I'm no computer expert :<

I guess that line is what made me think SM didn't work XP.

I used to have this problem before. I forget how I fixed it though, so this post is no help. Good luck with your problem.

I think I'm not clear enough. I meant the MP3 on the download page. That's what wouldn't play. It was just any kind of sound that wouldn't play. And video.

But I got the problem solved. I had my mom go the administrator account anyways for school purposes.
