Yes, it's national. The president decided, we love pi so much that we're going to make a holiday of it! Let's make it, uhhhhh, March 14th! Yeah, nothing special about that date at all. Nothing at all. Really. It's just a random day. And the only reason there's a pi day is because we love pi so much. It's not like pi is a number or anything, which happens to have a corresponding date. Not at all.

Asking whether it's "national" is stupid because "pi day" is just something that anyone who happens to notice that 3.14 corresponds to a date and has a reasonable interest in math can end up celebrating.

I love Pi day, my math teacher last year brought in pie and he sings a new song each year, but he retired after last year ;_; But he subs for others, so he came in and sung a new one to "Take Me Out to The Ball Game".

Plus the math department teachers where shirts with words that start with the sound Pi, like Pyrotechnics and python

I celebrated this in my math class. At the end of the period, I got to eat pie! Also, I had to memorize the first few digits of pi. I only know 3.141592653589793238462643. This might be wrong, though.

It was my best friend's birthday. Our group pooled to get him a Starbucks card worth $31.41(59265358979323846etc.....).

Heh. I got to eat apple pie in school today for Pi day. And My friends made pi signs and stuck them on my back.

My math teacher is freaky, but she said this:
