Yesterday I was told that all words have vowels. My reaction was “No they don’t that’s just stupid”, but after spending over an hour trying to come up with a word I’ve almost given up hope. I thought the people here might have some ideas. It looks like nearly every word has a vowel. Most words have vowels for either the first or second letter, sometimes the third if it’s after an “r”. This might be common sense and I just hadn’t heard of it, but it surprises me. I did come up with a few words like hymn, rhythm, and myth, but then I was told that they have a “y” and the vowels are “a”, “e”, “I”, “o”, “u”, and sometimes “y”. But I don’t really get the whole sometimes “y” thing. Anyway I would really appreciate any help on this. My pride is at stake. Not to mention 40 bucks.

Re: Vowels
How's about this one? I thought it was fake when my friend told me it, but it turns out that it isn't.Comment

Re: Vowels
Further with respect to Welsh, just because it uses the same alphabet doesn't even remotely make it the same language. The syntax and grammar are completely different, just the letters look the same, they aren't even pronounced like in english.Comment
