Well it's easier to drag and drop.

I saved the Stepmania program folder to my USB, and I am able to play Stepmania on my school's computer. I never had to download anything. Also, since you have every file in the program folder, it will have all your songs, settings, etc.

You can run almost any* program from a flash drive on multiple PC's.

*can't think of any examples right now but there are some that won't work

Well, programs that install from a .exe don't always simply copy files to the specified directory; they may add other necessary background files elsewhere. In these cases, you can't just copy the program folder on the flash drive and run it.

Most freeware works just fine, but bigger-name stuff tends not to work.
