And my mom is pestering me to print my grades for her.

Should I edit them to be slightly more favorable?

Note: through me is the only way she could find out my grades. College, and they apparently aren't even mailing the grades either, so even if she reads my mail she wouldn't find out.

How much does she normally expect, and how much did you get?

If it isn't too much of a difference, then just tell her you had a bad semester or something with some pretty tough classes.

If it's a large difference, it's still better to be honest, but try and justify it. If you can't...then just say you were out of it and will do better next semester.

She's bound to find out at some point if you do try and add a "fudge factor," and that will only cause more grief all around in the end.

Is she paying for your college education or are you? Because if she is paying for it I think you should tell her the truth. If you're paying for it, it shouldn't matter to your mom what you're grades are. You're old enough to make your own choices and accept your own consequences.

Averaging 4000 posts in a year is still ridiculous. Even at the ridiculous clip I've been going at in the past couple months of about 8/day, that still isn't as much as you average. Even the fact that I'm close to your average is unnerving.

Anyway as to the topic at hand, it depends entirely on what her reaction to your crappy grades would be. If you know she would respond irrationally and do something regrettable, lie. If not, tell your mother the truth. When I got my first semester grades they were a full GPA point below what they expected, but as long as they knew I was trying it was ok.
