    Firefox Problems

Alright, so I installed Firefox on my computer, but it's not letting me open the application. I keep getting the following message: Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

Anybody know how I can fix this? I've restarted my computer and reinstalled Firefox, both to no avail.

well, if you go to the task manager (I have xp so yeah) then processes:

then press end process, it should close the firefox window if it IS still running

If it's not that, I have no clue...

I actually forgot to mention that I did that, too. My only problem was that there was no Firefox process running. This is messed up. I think my computer's on acid.

Does it only do it with this one application?

do you have the Mozilla Firefox 3 beta 2?
I might work/not work with it. Try it.

Don't worry about it, guys. Thanks for your help! I'm content to just stick with IE7. But that does raise one question: Does anybody know if I can get rid of that thing that says "Click to activate and use this control."? It just gets irritating having to click a window to use it.

Get FireFox and download FasterFox...seriously...IE7 SUCKS. I have never had a single problem with Fox and as far as I can tell my security has never been compromised with it where as when I used IE, I had pop-ups in a matter of weeks.

I used to be an avid IE fan before I was briefly converted to Firefox, and I never had any problems with IE (pop ups, etc.) when I used it. I suppose it depends on what sites you visit and whatnot.

the only thing i find differently between the two is Firefox has themes and extensions.

I'm assuming you've already restarted your computer or uninstall and reinstall Firefox.

                      If not, get to it.
