                              You'd be surprised how common a set up like that is. There's a Michael's across the street from my mall, which also has a GS with another across the street, and a Panera in the parking lot.

                              As to the story... Holy crap on a stick, you're lucky he didn't freak and grab you. Personally I would have freaked and tried to claw his eyes out. I'm a bit jumpy when someone grabs me.
