I have a virus on my computer that makes it restart without warning, I've had this for a while now. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

1. Turn off your computer. Turn it back on and tap F12 OR F8 depending on your brand. If this doesn't work, research how to get your system BIOS menu for your brand of computer.
2. Go to System Boot Sequence and put your D drive as number 1. Your D drive may be named a number of things.
3. Exit and save changes and make sure your Windows XP disc is in the D drive.
4. Follow the on screen instructions which may take a few tries. You want to delete NOT REPAIR your hardrive(s).
5. Make a new partition using all of your memory. From there the rest is super easy.Comment

Or you can download a program called clamwin (opensource = free) and run it before the computer shuts off again. However, it is best to just fresh install your OS.

I wouldn't depend on suggestions from FFR if I were you you. I would get someone who knows exactly what they're doing. You might mess your computer up even more.
And to answer your question before if you would have Internet Security. Your not gonna have ****. You will need a cd to put the computers software back in the computer and all that stuff.
