I apologize beforehand for any inconsistencies in this post. I'm running on zero sleep for the past 36 hours.
On my way to school this morning I heard a news story on the radio. It said the following: A man in Houston, Texas called the police reporting a robbery that was occurring at his neighbor’s house. He was apparently responsible for watching the house while his friends were out of town. The man then told the 911 operator that “They were taking a bag of loot.” He then said he had a shotgun and he “would not let them get away with it.” A shotgun was heard ****ing (loading shells into the action in order to ready the gun for fireing) then several shots were fired. Two men were found shot dead at a distance of less than fifteen feet. Both men were presumed to have lived in Portugal or Puerto Rico.
I have a link to the audio here at The Houston Chronical web site. My question is, was this man right in what he did? Should be be convicted as a felon, or praised as a hero? Is he a savior wanting only to protect himself and his friends, or just another vigilante just looking for some action.
