    UnderClocking??

I've heard of Over clocking.. but can you underclock your processor.. like make it slower??.. without creating lag..

you can underclock, but that isnt gonna help anything, it will make your computer run slower...it will lag depending on what you do

By underclocking and reducing processor voltage, your comp will be slower,
but be cooler and more quiet (by reducing fan speed).

You CANNOT reduce processor voltage (from stock) as a solution to heat. you will get incredible instability and crashes very often.

What i don't get is...why the hell would someone want to underclock their computer?

Yay for resistors and capacitors (capacitors dont do that thing, but MAN they rock).

well.. i lookced online.. and one guy did it to reduce the noise his comp made..

i was just thinking about over clocking.. then though if you could enhance.. why not be able to de-hance (if thats even a word)...

I wouldn't believe it unless I saw it. Voltage gates have a set value that they have to reach to register a logic high. If you lower the voltage too much, the voltage your computer is producing for a logic high won't register a logic high, thus crashing your computer. there'd be no point really anyways, since there are much better relatively inexpensive ways to make your computer silent without having to lower your speed.

But sure it's possible, thought I don't know why you'd want to.

You could get a quieter fan.

2000 Mega Ohm resisters....do they make those? :O
